Every month, as part of our “Learning through Literature unit”, we read a fiction book. During February we read, “The Lemonade War”. It is a fantastic book that teaches many life lessons through the lives of a brother and sister, Evan and Jessie. They compete against each other in an all-out war to determine who can sell the most lemonade before the end of summer break.
We read the book together and completed various tasks related to the topics covered in the novel. One of the tasks was to create a lemonade recipe and then make the delicious lemonade. We were all pleasantly surprised with the end result!
What book is next on our fiction list? “The Giver,” by Lois Lowry.
